According to the statement, the long-pending demand for Zeliangrong statehood was delayed due to GOI’s inaction and disturbances caused by the Naga National movement, which subsequently compelled the Zeliangrong revolutionary movement to organize independently. Despite losses and hardships, the movement has continued with mass-based support.
ZUF clarified that it is distinct from Naga factions and operates as a separate organization with its own objectives. The Front stated that recent calls on social media urging ZUF to join peaceful negotiations reflect unofficial opinions and do not represent the organization.
ZUF further asserted that it remains open to all Zeliangrong leaders and cadres from Naga factions, inviting them to work together as one family for the greater political aspirations of the Zeliangrong kindred people. The Front emphasized that unity among Zeliangrongs is crucial before contributing to broader Naga national issues.
The Front concluded by urging all Zeliangrong leaders and cadres to come together and focus on strengthening their family home for greater collective accomplishments and political progress.
