IMPHAL: The proscribed People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (Progressive) [PREPAK (Pro)] on Wednesday observed the 49th Raising Day of its Red Army, according to a statement issued by the outfit’s chairman, Longjam Paliba M.

In the statement, the banned group paid tribute to its deceased members and expressed solidarity with those affected by the ongoing unrest in Manipur. The occasion carried a strong political tone, with the outfit sharply criticising both the State leadership and the Government of India.

PREPAK (Pro) accused the authorities of neglecting the interests of the Meitei community and alleged that Manipur was being turned into a “land of invaders.” The group blamed corruption, bureaucratic indifference, and power struggles among the elite for the State’s deepening crisis and social deterioration.

The organisation also invoked the concept of Dharma, describing it as a civic and moral duty rather than a religious notion, and called for unity and collective efforts to preserve Manipur’s social harmony.

The release further condemned “misinformation campaigns” by sections of the mainland media and criticised what it termed “kakistocratic governance” prevailing in the State.
