PARIS : Renowned fashion designer and handloom entrepreneur from Northeast India, Robert Naorem, continues to shine a global spotlight on the region’s rich textile heritage. Representing India during Paris Fashion Week, Naorem participated in an exclusive international fashion show organized by PP Production House at the prestigious Meliá La Défense, Paris.

The event featured 25 designers from across the world, and Naorem stood out with his latest collection titled “Art of East India” — a heartfelt tribute to the cultural brilliance and unique craftsmanship of his home state, Manipur.

Rooted in his vision to revive handloom and promote sustainable fashion, the collection highlights the versatility of Manipur’s traditional woven silks. Each piece is enhanced with intricate hand embroidery, tailored to appeal to the international market. The collection effortlessly merges traditional attire with Western silhouettes, all crafted in an elegant color palette of red, cream, and ivory.

From regal drapes to contemporary fusion pieces, Naorem’s designs reflect a seamless blend of heritage and modernity, celebrating the artisans of Manipur while addressing global fashion sensibilities.
